Poem: Childhood Treasure (haiku in 9 variations)

https://youtu.be/fHWPWAIR5x0?si=OUTZn_RQDuBQ4vQ8
Charlie Brown Christmas
Encapsulates wintertime
A childhood treasure

The jazzy soundtrack
never loses it’s cool charm
children’s chorus too

Takes me back to school
Yay, it’s winter vacation!
No more homework, Yay!

Crackling fireplace
Mom’s cooking a yummy feast
unwrapping presents

Christmas popcorn wreath
Snoopy’s ice skating, dancing
Woodstock’s fluttering

Linus was wise but
Pigpen was ny favorite
Lucy was a witch

Poor ole Charlie Brown
Sally was so annoying
Schroeder a genius

Peppermint Patty
and Marcie, what’s up with that?
Why’d she call her, “Sir”?!

I’ll let that one go!
I’m grateful to be Gen X
precious memories
Merry Christmas!

  1. Charlie Brown Christmas was the best. So many classic Christmas cartoons and tv programs from back then. I remember reading the TV guide ( a relic now 😄) to see what Christmas program was on each night.
Nostalgic poem, my friend. Love it 🕊️🎄😊

  2. Your nine variations of haiku sum up Charlie Brown Christmas very well.

A priceless magical treasure of Christmas past, present and (hopefully). future.

I remember how you pointed out once in a previous blog post how the dogs in those two pictures look suspiciously the same.

It does make you wonder about certain celebrities.

    Have a Merry Christmas 🎄, Judy. 🙂
