Poem: Godsend

John 15:13 https://biblehub.com/john/15-13.htm
Godsend

Life’s a roundtrip quest
a return journey home
a realization that we’re blessed
a chance to place God on His throne

His throne lives in our hearts
when we put God first
we’re immune to satan’s darts
although it gives it’s worst

Mere temporary oppression
sticks and stones
hurting us is it’s obsession
but our spirit’s not our bones

satan’s lost everything
his own pride cut his wings
and all the loyal angels sing
Hallelujah to God, the true King

God’s temple isn’t a building
not a charlatan’s marketplace
God’s temple exists within
God’s home in us, a space of grace

Life’s a choice of selfishness
or denial of self
gratitude and graciousness
or hoarding material wealth

so we should do our best
sincerely, continually strive
put our faith to the test
serve God while we’re alive

He ransomed us from death
gave all that He could give
til His very last breath
so that all of us could live

There’s no greater choice
no kinder action, than for a friend
to give His life, give us voice
His friendship is our Godsend

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:19 (Amplified Bible translation)
